And bum, here we are, it's Friday already!
Today's topic is discussion about the 2024 releases. It's been a very busy year - we have released 10 new products. That's sort of a record in the recent years.
The biggest seller for Portal Games this year was AI Space Puzzle. It was our Gen con release, and although at Essen Spiel we had a brand new game Resurgence, AI Space Puzzle was a star at our booth and was selling the best. It is a fun, little deduction game, I am so happy you guys enjoy it. I had a huge hopes for it, and I was right. If you have not get it yet, please do, it was a blast every time I played it.
Second place obviously goes to Robinson Crusoe: the Book of Adventures, and the third place goes to Robinson Crusoe: Collectors' edition. I repeat myself for the whole year - the Book of Adventures is the best expansion Portal Games ever published.
Spot 4th is Thorgal, pretty big in Europe and actually bigger in the US than we predicted - we are shipping to the US additional copies, because we are almost sold out with the game, in our warehouse in Florida we have around 100 copies left and that's it! Very happy with the outcome! The reviews are super positive, additional stock on the boat, that's a pretty good effort of the whole team.
Two little expansions for our bestsellers are in 5th and 6th spot. Hardcore fan base of Neuroshima Hex every year goes for the new expansion, and for Imperial Miners, it was the first expansion ever - we were blown away when we looked at the final data after Essen. We compared the sales of the base game at Essen 2023 with the sales of expansion in Essen 2024 - sales of the expansion in 2024 were around 75% of sales of the base game in 2023. Man, there are a lot of returning customers who loved the base game and grabbed the expansion!
Our light set collection euro - Printing Press, and our solid, awesome, post-apo euro - Resurgence are next, these games were moving slower than we expected and we hope you can help us boost them a bit. Give them some love on social media if you own and enjoy these games.
Two last titles were expansions for Thorgal, but they are on the market for a week, so it is too early to tell what will be the final sales of these titles.
