Hello, this is Ignacy Trzewiczek from Portal Games...
| | | It was a great week at Portal Games. We had the final debate and we have locked down our plans for 2025. Similarly to 2024, we will go slow in the first half of the year, focusing on promotion and additional free content for our evergreens like Robinson Crusoe, or Imperial Miners, and then the summer hits and we will offer you some new amazing titles!
The official press release and announcement are planned for January at our annual event called Portalcon. However, I think I can discuss some small details with you and tease what we are up to for 2025.
First of all, I can tease that we will do a small love project dedicated to wargames. It is not Portal Games main focus, we have no single wargame in our catalog yet, but we stumbled on an extremely interesting wargame, and since this is my personal passion and love, I decided we will green light this little gem and try to present you something extraordinary.
Then, I can tease that in 2025 we will release a science fiction game, it's an awesome game that we picked for the North America market and I cannot wait to announce it officially. There are various galactic races, planets to conquer, technologies and abilities to gain, it is a full blown sf strategy, and yet, it has a reasonable footprint - no minis, no gigantic board, no overproduced components. Just pure gameplay. I am very proud we signed this game for Portal Games.
| | We are intensively playtesting next year's releases. For Essen we will have a new edition of our older title and a brand new card game designed by a young designer - with this one I am obsessed with, the theme is absolutely unique and fun, and the gameplay cannot better fit our tagline Board Games That Tell Stories. We are still developing the game, and then there is a lot of art and design to be done, but I really cannot wait to finally announce this little gem and then release it.
The next year looks very promising for us - we have great games in the pipeline, we have a variety of themes and gameplay styles and I believe each of you, fans of our brand, will find something that you and your friends will fall in love with.
Thank you for your time, thank you for reading my letters to you and I hope to talk to you next week! Ignacy
P.S. I'd love to hear from you! If you want to send me a letter, send it to portal(at)portalgames.pl with a subject line "Letter to Ignacy". Looking forward to hearing from you! | | WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND PORTAL GAMES

| I love engine building games. Whether this is an engine building card game with my Empire growing, or regular board game in which round after round my area, my stuff is getting better and gaining new abilities, I am happy Ignacy. That's probably why Ignacy is happy playing Resurgence.
In Resurgence we are rebuilding our secret base and in the Resurgence we are growing our gang of scavengers. Today I want to talk about the people. We start the game with the Boss pawn (works as wild worker), and a few regular dudes. In the game, there are three more types – Rangers, Scholars and Builders. We can send our regular send to the Harbour area and train them. If so, we add a new pawn to our pool of dudes. Now we have more options on the board – many spaces here are locked down and you can send there only a Ranger, or Scholar or Builders. You won't win a game with just a bunch of regular scavengers.
But there is more. There are cards. 36 Survivor cards, each representing another person who survived the war and can be captured and join our gang. If you grab such a card, you not only get a specialist pawn to add to your pool, but you additionally get a special ability. There are 38 unique abilities in the game. Create synergies, look for some sweet combos and make your scavengers gang the most effective. You start with 6 regular workers. You end up with a unique gang full of specialist pawns and special abilities. Oh, yeah, I love engine building games! | | | | | Did you know that we are doing our own sleeves for cards? These are high quality transparent sleeves that over the past few months became super popular among our fans here in Poland. As a company who produces a lot of card games, like Imperial Settlers, 51st State, and more, we decided to add branded and awesome sleeves to our catalog and here they are. I strongly recommend grabbing them - I use them personally for my Star Wars: Unlimited decks, and in my GMT games like SpaceCorp, and couldn't be more happy with that. | | |
